Maria DeLuca-Frane, Pari Kazeminy and Lisa Bjornestad enjoy the night of holiday festivities.

Good cheer and holiday spirit were in abundance at the Women In Bio – Southern California Holiday Party. This annual gathering brings together the individuals who make up this growing organization and it was a great success! WIB and BioSurplus want to send their “Thanks” to all who participated in the silent auction and clothing drive. Approximately 20 bags of clothing were donated to Laura’s House in Ladera Ranch, CA.

Special thanks to The San Diego Opera, Hera Hub, Rancho Bernardo Inn and Disneyland for the gracious donations to our silent auction which enabled us to raise significant funds for up-coming Young Women In Bio programs.

Laura’s House provides domestic violence-related services to the 915,000 residents of Orange County, California and beyond. Over the past eighteen years, Laura’s House has provided shelter and support services to more than 3,488 battered women and children. The foundation has also provided counseling, life skills education and legal assistance to over 40,305 persons in times of need.

Many of the Holiday Party attendees expressed interest in becoming members of WIB and volunteering on the steering committee. Women In Bio welcomes participation from everyone who is interested! Feel free to reach out to Maria DeLuca-Frane at 858-605-8850 or BioSurplus’ Pari Kazeminy at 858-524-9564 for more information.
