The PacBio RS II Sequencer offers revolutionary genome sequencing with a fast, flexible design and analytics. It is ideal for whole genome sequencing of small genomes, targeted sequencing, complex population analysis, RNA sequencing of targeted transcripts, and microbial epigenetics. Template preparation is completed in as few as six hours and rapid sequence time ranges from 30 minutes to four hours to provide fast analysis. The flexible assay design offers a variety of sample types including genome DNA, amplicons, and cDNA, requires a low input sample amount from 10 ng to 1 microliter, and accepts inserts from 250 bp to 40 kb.
The PacBio RS II Sequencer provides the highest consensus accuracy by using SMRT Cells containing thousands of Zero-Mode Waveguides to illuminate only the bottom of a well where a DNA polymerase or template complex is immobilized. SMRT Sequencing provides the longest read lengths of more than 20 kb and over 99.999% (QV50) consensus accuracy. There is no amplification required and it provides even coverage across GC content.
Each SMRT Cell generates 55,000 reads and between 500 Mb to 1 Gb of data. The PacBio RS II Sequencer can process a maximum of 16 SMRT Cells with a runtime between 30 minutes to six hours per SMRT Cell
