25,291 partnering meetings.  Hundreds of speakers.  16,500 industry leaders from 49 states and 65 countries.  2,000 exhibitors.

The Biotechnology Industry Organization is the world’s largest biotech organization, providing advocacy, business development and communications services to more than 1,100 members representing the full range of the industry.

So it’s only natural that the world’s largest biotech organization put on the world’s largest biotech conference:  the BIO International Convention.

This year’s epic event was held in the biotech hub of Boston, Massachusetts, and BioSurplus was a proud exhibitor and participant.  On the floor were BSI team members Dawn Hocevar, Robert Kum and Michelle Crandall.

Dawn, our director of national business development, met with numerous companies and partners including BIO staff, as well as affiliates such as NCBIO, NYBA, BIO NJ, and BIOFlorida.  She was also pleased to meet with Massachusetts governor Deval Patrick; she thanked him for the recent quote he so graciously provided for the press release and subsequent media coverage of BioSurplus’ Boston/Cambridge expansion.

And let’s not forget the famous BioSurplus cash-filled spinner flask.  This year’s winner was Dr. Michael Cardone, CEO of Cambridge-based Eutropics Pharma.  Congratulations Michael!

We’re looking forward to giving away another $500 at next year’s convention:  BIO 2013, to be held in Chicago, IL.

Thanks to Dawn Hocevar for the great photos – take a moment to browse through them below.
