2014 Buzz Of BIO Winners Announced

In other conference news, winners of the annual Buzz of BIO Awards were announced on May 5.  The awards recognize innovative companies in biotech, and are presented in two categories:  Technologies of Tomorrow, and Pipelines of Promise.

This year more than 40 companies participated and over 8,000 votes were tallied.  These record-breaking numbers resulted in the selection of two winners per category.

The winners of the Technologies of Tomorrow award were BNOAT Oncology, of Akron, Ohio, an oncology research and development company, and HNu-NanoPOINT, of Kahului, Hawaii, which develops compact microfluidic systems for stem cell research.

The winners of the Pipelines of Promise awards were Kibow Biotech, of Newton Square, Pennsylvania, a dietary supplement company, and Novan Therapeutics, which is located in Durham, North Carolina and develops nitric oxide-releasing drugs for dermatology and wound care.
